The Nixon Review was established to complement work already being progressed by the Department of Home Affairs. This work addresses migrant worker exploitation, and aims to more effectively prevent, deter and sanction abuse of Australia's visa framework.

The Australian Cohesion Index brings together an extraordinary depth of data, knowledge and analysis to provide a robust picture of Australia today. It draws upon the ongoing rigour of the 'Mapping Social Cohesion' study, which has been undertaken since 2007, and is the only ongoing and comprehensive study of social cohesion in the world.

In September 2022, the Federal Home Affairs Minister, Clare O'Neil, announced three eminent persons would lead a comprehensive review of Australia's migration system to ensure it better meets existing challenges and sets a clear direction for the coming decades.
