Food insecurity has significant impacts on rates of chronic disease and other measures of health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in remote communities. Many remote communities now experience food insecurity at a much higher rate than Australians as a whole. This strategy identifies seven pillars of food security.
