Royal Commission into the Robodebt Scheme

On 18 August 2022, the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), issued Letters Patent, which established the Royal Commission into the Robodebt Scheme. Catherine Holmes AC SC has been appointed as the Royal Commissioner. She is required to produce a final report by 18 April 2023*.
* On 16 February 2023, the Attorney-General announced that the Royal Commission into the Robodebt Scheme had been granted a brief extension to its reporting date. The terms of reference for the Royal Commission into the Robodebt Scheme will be amended to extend the reporting date from 18 April 2023 to 30 June 2023.
