This report addresses three claims that seek repeal of section 80(1)(d) of the Electoral Act 1993. It looks at the level of advice provided to Parliament and the Law and Order Select Committee and the consequent ongoing effects of the legislation on Māori, including the individual and collective exercise of tino rangatiratanga.

Te Korowai Ture ā-Whānau: the final report of the Independent Panel examining the 2014 family justice reforms


The National Party’s 2014 reforms made significant changes to the family justice system, including introducing Family Dispute Resolution and removing lawyers from the early stages of some Family Court proceedings. An independent panel examined the 2014 changes and considered how they've impacted separating families and the children involved in those cases.

Sharing information safely


In August and September 2018, the Ministry of Justice sought feedback on a draft version of information sharing guidance for the family violence sector. The guidance document sought to clarify the rules around information sharing that were introduced under the Family Violence Act 2018. This document is a summary of the feedback received.
