The Victorian Centre for Climate Change Adaptation Research was a multi-institutional research organisation whose focus was primarily action-based research. The purpose of their research was to assist the development of policy and build understanding and capacity in relation to adaptation across the private and public sectors in Victoria.
Victorian government funding for VCCCAR concluded in June 2014.

Climate change and health in the regions
The workshop aimed to identify and better understand the likely climate risks (amongst other drivers), to improve our understanding of the factors that increase vulnerability for each of these communities (in relation to human health), and to begin to map out effective adaptation strategies and how best to support the building of local adaptive capacity.

Adaptive learning - preparing for climate change adaptation in local and state planning in Victoria
Large scale social change is required to recognise climate risks and effectively respond to them. It should not take disasters to provoke action or create the realisation that governments or communities are not sufficiently well-prepared to deal with the impacts of climate-related event.
