As part of the National Plan to Respond to the Abuse of Older Australians, the Attorney-General’s Department commissioned the most extensive empirical examination of elder abuse in Australia to date, the National Elder Abuse Prevalence Study. This report presents the findings of that research program.

This report contains the results of a mixed methods research study exploring the characteristics and activities of Department of Social Services’ funded Family and Relationship Services (FaRS) and Specialised Family Violence Services (SFVS). The results from this research will help to inform future service delivery and design.
