Gambling is a major public policy issue in Australia, affecting the health and wellbeing of many individuals and families in a range of ways. This paper aims to improve understanding of gambling participation and related problems among adults living in Victoria.

The research findings from this study aim to inform the development and implementation of policy and practice responses to prevent and reduce gambling-related harms in Australia.

The aim of this study was to establish base levels of online wagering involvement, the prevalence of risky gambling behaviour, and levels of online wagering consumer harm, ahead of the full implementation of the National Framework. The baseline study sets a benchmark to inform future evaluation activities to determine the effectiveness of the National Framework.
