Ten-years after its commencement, it is time to critically reflect on why Australian governments have not yet succeeded in closing the health gap to date, and why they will not succeed by 2030 if the current course continues.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Suicide Prevention Evaluation Project (ATSISPEP) Critical Response Project (WA) arose out of ATSISPEP’s work to identify success factors in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (hereon Indigenous) suicide prevention.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Suicide Prevention Evaluation Project (ATSISPEP) is an important Australian Government response to the above. This report summarises the work of ATSISPEP in expanding the evidence-base for what works in Indigenous community-led suicide prevention.
