This is the third report released in a multi-year collaborative project evaluating company responses to Australia's modern slavery reporting regime. It follows earlier reports 'Broken promises' and 'Paper promises'.

This report evaluates the extent to which the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) is driving effective action by companies in addressing modern slavery, three years into the Act’s operation.

This report finds that much work remains to be done to address significant gaps in corporate accountability for adverse human rights impacts, to ensure victims have access to remedy, and to operationalise the business ‘responsibility to respect’ human rights in Australia.
