Increasing a school's readiness for change has the potential to mitigate the negative impact on program implementation in an educational setting. This paper outlines strategies school leaders can use to increase their school’s readiness for change and highlights real-life examples from the Getting it Right from the Start (GIRFTS) project.

This snapshot explores variations in schools’ readiness to implement a response to intervention (RTI) approach to improving children’s oral language and reading skills. It is a collaboration between the Australian Education Research Organisation and the Centre for Community and Child Health at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.
