The Australian Public Service Gender Equality Strategy has started an important conversation about the nature of equality, how it is achieved, and the opportunities and challenges it represents.

This report examines the existing limited research on women in the cyber security industry, and women in science, technology, mathematics, and engineering (STEM) and information and communication technology (ICT) to identify barriers to women’s labour market participation.

This report shows that Australia has caught up to - and on some measures surpassed - the United States in female labour force participation and in relation to women's representation in senior and strategic organisational roles. The report offers a unique snapshot into the working lives of women in Australia and the United States.
