Australia does not currently have a national sport injury data collection that includes community sport. This draft consultation report sets out a strategy to improve national sports injury data through the development of a National Sports Injury Data Asset (NSIDA).

These guidelines are intended to promote best practice responses to spectator racism at the professional sporting level. They identify actions that can be taken consistently across sporting codes to ensure that spectators, officials and players are safe, and to promote awareness of what to do and how to respond to incidents of spectator racism.

Sport Australia has taken the next steps towards building a more collaborative, cohesive and contemporary approach to volunteering in sport with the release of this insights report and new national plan for the future of sport volunteering.

This report collates experiences and perspectives based on roundtables and interviews conducted with senior sport executives in October-November 2020, six months after the disruption caused by the COVID-19 shutdowns.

Many of the most troubling issues for sports regulators: drugs, corruption, gambling, racism, gender equality, new technologies and workplace health and safety, are equally problematic for society at large. This article reflects on how sport manages these issues and could provide lessons for others.
