An evaluation to assess the suitability of the National Women’s Alliances model as a vehicle for bringing women’s voices to the Australian Government to inform policy development. The evaluation involved a desktop review and interviews with selected stakeholders of the program.

Australian attitudes towards women remain more conservative than in many other OECD countries. This study uses directly assessed normative attitudes, based on nearly two decades of nationally representative household survey data, to consider the role played by peer gender norms.

This year, the 17th edition of the Global Gender Gap Index benchmarks gender parity across 146 countries, providing a basis for robust cross-country analysis. Further, examining a subset of 102 countries that have been included in every edition of the index since 2006 provides a large constant sample for time-series analysis.
