Changing perspectives: testing an ageism intervention


This Australian Human Rights Commission’s research aimed to contribute to a greater understanding of how negative perceptions of ageing and older adults may be shifted. The research shows that a brief, one-off ageism workshop can be a powerful tool in creating positive changes in attitudes and behaviours towards older people.

EAAA submission to the Inquiry into Australia’s Human Rights Framework


This submission contends that Australia is the only liberal democracy in the world with no national human rights protection mechanism. The submission supports the introduction of a federal Human Rights Act for Australia and provides recommendations and case studies that specifically support an Act to protect older people.
