Art has the power to illuminate inequities, generate discussion, give voice to and empower women, and motivate community action. Throughout this project, the potential for local government to promote gender equality through arts-based initiatives was evident.

Budgeting for gender equity
This report asserts that one key mechanism to support governments in realising their gender equity strategy is gender responsive budgeting (GRB). The authors argue that GRB enables decision-makers, administrators and the public to evaluate how policy decisions are contributing to a government’s gender equity strategy.
