Regional city regeneration is increasingly becoming an important topic as towns attempt to position themselves mid-way between larger discourses about capital cities and peri-urban landscapes. For emergency planning purposes, it is critical to estimate the range of times involved in the evacuation of a community during bushfire disasters, and the factors that might influence it. This paper addresses this issue with a particular emphasis on spatial configuration in urban fringe residential development.
