This report is the product of roundtable events facilitated by WACOSS and the Noongar Family Safety and Wellbeing Council between April 2018 and May 2019, to build partnership between Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) and Community Service Organisations.

Co-Chair of Reconciliation Australia, Professor Tom Calma AO, is an Aboriginal elder from the Kungarakan tribal group and a member of the Iwaidja tribal group in the Northern Territory. Professor Calma delivered this presentation for the Australian Parliamentary Library National Reconciliation Week lecture.

Adjunct Professor Muriel Bamblett AO is a Yorta Yorta and Dja Dja Wurrung woman, one of Australia’s leading experts on Aboriginal child welfare, has been CEO of the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency since 1999, and is the Chair of SNAICC – National Voice for our Children.

Australia’s first Indigenous Senior Counsel, Tony McAvoy SC is a Wirdi man who is Co-Chair of the Indigenous Legal Issues Committee of the Law Council of Australia, and has recently assisted the Royal Commission into Youth Detention in the Northern Territory.

Djirra is an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation, which provides holistic, culturally safe and specialist legal and non-legal support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who experience family violence – predominantly women. Antoinette Braybrook is the CEO of Djirra.
