Investor sentiment on Australia’s climate policy has significantly improved since 2021, according to data outlined in this briefing paper.

This evaluation seeks to identify the success factors for and barriers to effective program delivery and provide recommendations, strategies or options to strengthen and improve future Reef Trust water quality investments. The report makes 36 recommendations across 8 themes in order to respond to changing environmental and economic challenges facing the Reef and its community.

Climate policy has entered a new era, as public investment increasingly moves to centre stage. While essential for decarbonisation, public investment is not enough—the carrots of investment need to go hand in hand with regulatory sticks. This paper advances our understanding of how to tie climate requirements to public investment.
