This document proposes new regulations for freedom camping in New Zealand with the goal of finding a balance between environmental protection and a flourishing tourism sector.

This report assessed the place of camping in New Zealand’s tourism offering and laid out recommendations for better management, covering both the short term lead-in to peak season and longer term legislative changes.
