This discussion paper considers and questions how 'Protocol 5: Description and Classification of The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Protocols for Libraries, Archives and Information Services' could guide Wikimedia projects and assist Wikipedia and Wikidata editors to describe Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander content in a self-determined and culturally appropriate manner.

Based on a global survey, this report is now in its seventh year. It provides insights into researchers’ attitudes towards and experiences of open data. With more than 5,400 respondents, the 2022 survey is the largest since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Persistent identifiers (PIDs) are unique alpha-numeric codes that positively identify entities such as people, places and things. This report sets out the benefits of PIDs primarily through the lens of metadata reuse.

The State of Open Data 2021 report is the sixth in the series and includes survey results and a collection of articles from global industry experts.
