Torres Strait Island Regional Council's Corporate Plan (2020-2025), provides an executable framework for consultation with each of their 15 communities, and ultimately leading to a strategic focus areas of people, sustainability and prosperity.

Tiwi Islands Fire Management Plan has been put together byTiwi Land Council, incorporating weed management and wet season fire management.

In December 2016, the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) agreed to refresh the Closing the Gap agenda ahead of the tenth anniversary of the agreement and four of the seven targets expiring in 2018. This statement responds to calls for the principles of empowerment and self-determination to be incorporated into Closing the Gap response.

Aboriginal rangers, their communities and the CLC believe the benefits of their work extends far beyond the obvious environmental outcomes. Ranger employment also creates significant social, cultural and economic benefits.

The development of this strategy was funded by the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, to support Traditional Owner rights and interests in reintroducing Cultural Fire to the landscape.
