This audit is part of a series of audits of the governance of the Northern Territory Land Councils. It was conducted to provide independent assurance to Parliament that the Land Councils’ governance arrangements are effective in meeting legislative obligations.

This evaluation of the Indigenous Ranger Biosecurity Program (IRBP) assessed its appropriateness, efficiency, and effectiveness. It concludes that while the IRBP should continue in its current format, targeted improvements could enhance its effectiveness in achieving biosecurity outcomes while supporting Indigenous employment and cultural connection to Country.
