Targeting fixated individuals to prevent intimate partner homicide


Intimate partner homicide (IPH) is one of the most common forms of homicide in Australia. Considerable recent public debate has focused on the issue yet relatively few programs have been designed to prevent it. This paper explores whether and how a multi-agency model designed to intervene with fixated individual could be applied to the problem.

Securing women’s lives: examining system interactions and perpetrator risk in intimate femicide sentencing judgments over a decade in Australia


In Australia and comparable international jurisdictions, a range of provisions, measures, laws and programs are designed to assess and address the risk of intimate partner violence. This project sought to contribute new evidence to inform the further development of whole-of-systems preventive approaches to repeat violence and intimate femicide.
