The risk-taking behaviours of children on adult-based platforms are largely unknown. This article presents findings on the online and offline behaviours of young people in Australia who, as children, used an adult-based platform. It found that children are exposed to risk both online and offline as a result of using these platforms.

The barometer is a survey of more than 520 young Australians aged 18–24 about their experiences with the economy, work, education, health and wellbeing, relationships and participation in civic life. Themes included the impact of technology, feelings of belonging and exclusion, financial security and the need for governments to offer more support.

This report synthesises discussions from the Digital Childhoods Summit, held in Canberra in June 2025. The summit aimed to identify key priorities for practice and policy to improve digital childhoods in Australia. It was organised around four key themes, each recognised as timely and significant issues affecting children, families, educators, industry and government.

The Age Assurance Technology Trial evaluated the effectiveness, reliability and privacy impacts of a range of age assurance technologies. It assesses their performance against a wide range of internationally recognised criteria. It finds age assurance can be done in Australia privately, efficiently and effectively.

This report provides parent- and carer-based insights to inform eSafety’s implementation of the Social Media Minimum Age obligation in Australia, derived from two roundtable sessions. The report details the themes of the discussion in relation to four key focus areas identified by the eSafety Commissioner. It synthesises discussion input into key recommendations.
