This project brought together a wide range of stakeholders from across the Colac Otway and Corangamite Shires to develop a map based bio-links strategy which is recognised as a key biodiversity planning tool.

The monitoring program aims to establish if the artificial reef is effective in dampening wave energy and accreting sand, which in turn is expected to broaden and stabilise the beach. The program will also monitor the colonisation of marine communities both on the reef and in the surrounding area.

This report details the little-known prevalence of nationally listed threatened plants and animals in 99 of Australia’s biggest cities and towns. It also documents how much forest and woodland habitat for these same threatened species has been destroyed between 2000 and 2017 under Australia’s failing national environmental laws.

As the Conservation Regulator enters its second year of operation, the events of the last year have shown us that it is more important than ever we protect our state’s natural environment so we can enjoy it today and protect it for future generations.

The objective of this audit was to assess the effectiveness of the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment’s administration of referrals, assessments and approvals of controlled actions under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
