Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is considered the most effective and evidence-based model of employment support for people living with mental ill-health. This framework aims to increase and retain IPS workforce availability, capacity, and capability to deliver IPS programs in headspace, ultimately improving vocational recovery outcomes for young people experiencing mental ill-health.

This report examines the employment and welfare system in relation to young people with mental illness and education and employment. It makes a number of recommendations which the authors hope will allow people at the outset of a mental illness to not lose their dreams of the future.
