The Joint Standing Committee on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs has published this report on its inquiry into community safety, support services and job opportunities in the Northern Territory. The report makes several recommendations to the Commonwealth and Northern Territory governments in the wake of the sunsetting of the Stronger Futures Act in 2022.

This report details a survey FARE and VicHealth conducted last year with 220 people seeking to reduce alcohol, gambling and unhealthy foods. The survey aimed to understand how marketing for these harmful and unhealthy products impacts people trying to reduce these products.

This report recommends that the NT Government, with the help and partnership of the Commonwealth, acts to implement immediate restrictions for takeaway alcohol on town camps and nearby remote communities.

This response focuses on three key areas to improve safety, support stronger families and engage young people.

The aim of this paper is to understand factors influencing public support for various alcohol policies in New South Wales, and to determine any change over time.
