This exploratory study investigated the understanding and experiences of sexual coercion and violence by young women from African refugee and migrant backgrounds.

This paper provides a brief synthesis of relevant research from neuroscience, psychology and education to highlight new understandings in childhood trauma research. Rather than being an exhaustive review, it aims to highlight relevant research when considering childhood trauma, and to support reflection on current practice and policy when considering traumatised children in schools.

The Holding Children Together Service, funded by the Communities for Children initiative and the Alice Springs Transformation Plan, has been developed as an innovative service designed to fill an identified gap in therapeutic service provision for young children in Alice Springs who have experienced trauma, abuse and neglect.
