This progress report provides an overview of the work undertaken by the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability, since its establishment was announced in April 2019. It also outlines the Commission’s program for 2020.

The Royal Commission’s Interim Report lays the foundations for the fundamental reform and redesign of Australia’s aged care system. It is clear that a fundamental overhaul of the design, objectives, regulation and funding of aged care in Australia is required – not merely patching up.

This framework outlines the vision, guiding principles, objectives and strategic priorities to strengthen NSW Health response to violence, abuse and neglect. It is underpinned by a comprehensive evidence base and was developed through a co-design process with extensive consultation​.​​​​​

This pilot project aimed to learn more about the culture of services for people with disability and identify some practical approaches that might be both useful now and relevant for future development.
