This resource presents a discussion of the evidence driving integrated prevention and response to violence, abuse and neglect in NSW, and aims to support NSW Health and partner organisations to “champion” integrated care initiatives through a shared understanding of the nature and impacts of clients’ experiences of violence, abuse and neglect.

This report demonstrates the need for a comprehensive safeguarding approach in NSW for vulnerable adults living in the community – including an effective response to the abuse and neglect of both vulnerable adults with disability and older people.
