Overweight and obesity in childhood and adolescence are associated with adverse health consequences throughout the lifecourse. This article outlines the policy actions, governance and accountability mechanisms needed to tackle the global epidemic of childhood obesity.

The literature review presented in this report aimed to investigate the evidence available for overweight and obesity among refugee and migrant adolescent populations who have recently arrived in their resettlement country.

The final report makes 22 recommendations to government, including establishing a National Obesity Taskforce, reviewing food labelling and dietary guidelines, introducing a tax on sugar-sweetened beverages, restricting TV advertising, and supporting related health promotion activities.
