In December 2017, the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse final report made 409 recommendations. This document outlines the Australian Government's response in addressing each of these recommendations in partnership with state and territory governments.

The Royal Commission has presented the final report to the Governor-General, detailing the culmination of a five year inquiry into institutional responses to child sexual abuse and related matters.

This research was designed to review the literature concerning child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church in Australia and elsewhere, and included 26 key international and Australian inquiry reports.

This article argues that the current Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse provides ample evidence of why organisations can and should be criminalised for systemic failures.

This report follows public hearings held in Sydney in June and August 2016, which inquired into the experiences of men and women who were sexually abused as children in certain divisions of the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
