Outcome evaluation focuses on measuring the results or outcomes of a program or intervention. It focuses on attribution whereas an impact evaluation focuses on causation.

Northern Basin Toolkit: inquiry report
The report from an inquiry into the Northern Basin Toolkit, a package of measures aimed at maximising environmental outcomes in the northern Murray-Darling Basin. The report finds the toolkit has severely underdelivered on its environmental commitments, with key infrastructure projects falling drastically short of their original targets. It makes seven recommendations.

The evaluation assessed the appropriateness, effectiveness and sustainability of Australian Government-funded initiatives introduced since 2019 to reduce the number of younger people in residential aged care and lessons learned to inform future policy considerations. It found several factors helped reduce younger people entering residential aged care but not to zero.

Findings indicate that this sustained, whole-school approach led to a range of positive outcomes.

Getting the best outcomes for injured and ill workers
The final report of the independent review of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988, the legislative framework that underpins the Commonwealth workers’ compensation scheme. The review made 124 recommendations, focussing on: best practice in workers’ compensation; workers’ experience of the scheme; scheme coverage and entitlements; governance and administration; and reducing disputes.

A tool for action: developing the Workplace Gender Equality Agency’s Action Planning Tool
The Action Planning Tool supports Australian organisations to reduce their gender pay gap. It uses organisational data to identify gender pay gap 'hot spots' and provide a targeted action plan specific to the organisation. This evaluation assesses the effectiveness of the tool in building confidence, lifting knowledge and supporting organisations to take action.
