The Queensland government is working towards a future where First Nations peoples in Queensland have a fairer housing system. As part of their commitment, they have launched this strategy and 4-year action plan to close the housing gap for First Nations peoples in Queensland.

New South Wales (NSW) housing crisis is the most pressing public policy challenge facing the state. This report argues that a well-funded social housing system in NSW is crucial for addressing the housing crisis, promoting economic resilience and fostering inclusive communities.

This research explores the complex interaction between the Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) program and the social housing sector, including participants’ experience of accessing these homes and the extent to which the homes are equipped with assistive technology.

This survey, conducted by ACOSS in partnership with First Nations Clean Energy Network, of 1,007 people across Australia, found 80 per cent of people were living in homes that are too hot in summer.

This report presents funding and finance options to support the roll out of rapid and substantial energy performance and climate-resilience retrofits, to low-income housing. The report is informed by a series of workshops held in 2023, and subsequent consultations with experts across government, housing, property, energy, finance, climate change and community sectors.
