This toolkit has been developed as a resource for data stewards and responsible data leaders at public, private, and civil society organisations, who are seeking new ways to create public value through cross-sector data collaboration.

The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) periodically publishes statistical information about notifications received under the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme to assist entities and the public to understand the operation of the scheme. This report captures notifications made under the NDB scheme for the period from 1 July to 31 December 2020.

This survey of 1,000 consumers conducted from March – April 2020 confirms that Australians expect more from industry and government when it comes to protecting them from risks posed by the collection, sharing and use of their personal information.

This project explores consumer experiences of informed consent regarding privacy on smartphone devices, and to help develop practical resources for privacy professionals who deal with the problem of informed consent on mobile devices.

This review focused on the use of algorithms in significant decisions about individuals. The review looks at the use of algorithmic decision-making in four sectors (policing, local government, financial services and recruitment) and makes cross-cutting recommendations that aim to help build the right systems so that algorithms improve, rather than worsen, decision-making.
