The Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia Survey, known as HILDA, is a nationally representative longitudinal study of Australian households.

It is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Social Services and is managed by the Melbourne Institute.

The Melbourne Institute publishes the latest findings from the HILDA Survey each year, allowing Australians to see how different aspects of their lives have changed over time.

This report presents key findings from Waves 1 to 15 of the HILDA Survey and was published in July 2017. The report explores seven topics:

• Family life
• Economic well-being
• Labour market outcomes
• Retirement
• Gambling
• Young home-owners
• Attitudes to marriage, parenting and work

The report contains articles on changes in key aspects of life in Australia, as well as information on other findings. The fieldwork for this report was conducted between 2001 and 2015.
