ACER is managing the National Year 6 Science Assessment on behalf of the Performance Measurement and Reporting Taskforce subgroup of the federal government's Ministerial Committee for Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs. In late October 2003 students from schools sampled throughout Australia will be sitting for a written task and a practical task so that baseline data can be obtained regarding the performance of students in Science.
