The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) releases this Green Star for New Buildings consultation paper.
Since it first launched to market in 2003, Green Star has been a transformational force for the sustainable built environment. More than 2,250 projects across Australia have now been certified. But we cannot become complacent. We must continue to lift the bar and raise minimum standards. GBCA is calling on industry to provide feedback on the latest proposed changes to Green Star. The first rating tool under the microscope is Green Star for New Buildings.
The proposed changes will spell the biggest overhaul to the rating system since its inception. The expanded scope of the new rating tool will be communicated through eight brand new categories.
Its vision statement is simple: Healthy, resilient and positive places for people and nature, built responsibly and showcasing leadership.
GBCA wants you to be involved in the ongoing success of Green Star, and ask that you take the time to review the paper. The closing date for feedback is 10 June 2019.
