Australian vocational education and training statistics: the likelihood of completing a VET qualification

Publisher
Vocational education and training Education Employment Australia
Description

The National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) has released estimated national completion rates data based on enrolments in publicly funded training throughout 2007.

Nationally, 27.2% of all vocational education and training (VET) students enrolled in that year are expected to complete their training, the same number estimated for students who enrolled in 2005. For young people (those aged up to 25 years), the national estimated completion rate increases to 35.6%.

Of all VET students who are expected to complete their training, students enrolled in diploma level (32.6%) and certificate III level (32.5%) qualifications show they are more likely to complete their studies than those completing other vocational qualifications.
