The Women's Development Project - Indigenous Australia program: evaluation report

Women Indigenous health Evaluation Australia Australian Capital Territory

This evaluation of the Women's Development Project finds that significant progress had been made towards its goal for increased self-determination; and that the communities have the capacity to further strengthen their goals.

The Women’s Development Project began in 2008. The goal of the WDP was to increase self-determination of women in the Jawoyn region, with key objectives to increase: networking and communication; capacity building in communities; opportunities for livelihoods; and partnership building and sharing of knowledge.

The evaluation was conducted by an external consultant appointed by the Fred Hollows Foundation and covered four communities in the Jawoyn region including Manyallaluk, Barunga, Wugularr, and Bulman.
