Baw Baw Shire community responding to climate change
Addressing climate change will be one of the biggest challenges facing not only Baw Baw Shire Council and its community but also the world in general. We need to respond to the challenge of climate change by using our resources efficiently and reducing our everyday impact on our environment. Baw Baw Shire communities are feeling the impact of increasing climate change and want to take action to both reduce the environmental impact of their resources use. However, there is a lack of expertise and knowledge at the broader community level to be able to take significant action to address this issue.
Both Baw Baw Shire Council and Baw Baw Sustainability Network ran a series of training sessions to raise climate change mitigation and adaptation actions in the local community, businesses and amongst Council staff. The findings from these sessions are discussed in this report.
