The This Girl Can campaign has been embraced by women looking for inspiration to get active or get back into physical activity – despite the challenges of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

This report outlines how women responded to the ‘new normal’ during the coronavirus pandemic, with over 340,000 women inspired to get active at home or in their neighbourhood.

Key findings:

  • 2 out of 5 (30%) of women turned to exercising at home for the first time during the pandemic.
  • Almost 80% of women want to see more women with a range of body shapes included in physical activity advertising.
  • Two-thirds of women aren’t motivated to get active by videos featuring toned and taut influencers and fitness instructors.
