Description
On 8 March 2022, the Legislative Assembly’s Economy and Infrastructure Committee received terms of reference to conduct an Inquiry into how Victorian universities can play a greater role to support the pipeline of skilled workers in government priority areas. In relation to skills, the Legislative Assembly asked the Committee to consider future demand in developing a clean economy and regional need in health, agriculture and community services.
Report overview:
- Chapter 2 examines how to enhance university collaboration with industry.
- Chapter 3 examines the level of collaboration with vocational education providers and industry.
- Chapter 4 looks at learning support and skills planning in priority employment areas.
- Chapter 5 summarises the key themes of the inquiry. This includes the centrality of partnerships and collaboration to ensure efforts to address workforce shortages and develop the future supply of skilled workers are not duplicated.
