This paper reports on the results of a survey of 1500 Australian voters. They were asked a range of questions about digital regulation, in the context of anticipated reforms to the Privacy Act 1988.
Findings indicated Australians are significantly anxious about a range of privacy and data protection issues. They strongly support the direction of the Privacy Act Review and would like to see reforms carried out within a year. A significant number of undecided voters noted they would consider privacy reforms in weighing up who to vote for in the next election.
