Description
This paper was developed to support a workshop on shaping the Children’s Online Privacy Code. It draws connections between the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), children’s rights and young people's perspectives, aiming to deepen the dialogue around what the Code should address to better protect children’s privacy online.
By mapping existing knowledge and identifying gaps, the paper initiates a conversation between the child rights framework and Australia’s privacy regime to inform and strengthen the Code’s development. It offers key considerations for interpreting the APPs through a child rights lens and, where possible, integrates the voices of children and young people themselves.
