Description
The report captures Victoria's progress to prevent family violence, gendered violence and violence against women between January 2022 to December 2024, analysing:
- positive progress and change
- enablers of and barriers to prevention work
- emerging trends and evolving practices
- opportunities and recommendations for further action and investment.
The report provide a comprehensive overview of the breadth and diversity of work being done by sectors, organisations, communities and individuals to prevent violence against women and family violence. Regular reporting to Parliament ensures preventing violence remains a priority for decision-makers.
It makes 15 recommendations to the Victorian Government to safeguard progress made and continue pushing forward by:
- providing dedicated and enduring funding to prevention
- strengthening the prevention system and growing and supporting its workforce
- ensuring we have the best evidence on what works to prevent violence and the data we need to track collective impact
- supporting community-led and self-determined prevention
- addressing emerging trends that, without action, will threaten progress.
