Is the Queensland Chief Justice saga Australia's greatest judicial crisis?

Publisher
Justice Criminal justice Legal services Judicial appointments Queensland Australia
Description

When Queensland's Chief Justice, Tim Carmody, resigned last year he brought to an end months of spectacularly vicious infighting within Queensland's legal and political circles.

His appointment sparked allegations from high profile legal figures about political influence on the court, it dominated the news in Queensland for a year and it dogged the government of then premier, Campbell Newman.

But the authors of a new book on the affair say it has implications well beyond Queensland. One of those authors is Rebecca Ananian-Welsh, a law lecturer at the University of Queensland.
