Description

The Attorney General has asked the NSW Law Reform Commission to review and report on the desirability of making changes to the Guardianship Act 1987 (NSW). As currently drafted, the Act allows a formal decision-maker to be appointed to make personal, financial and medical decisions for someone who is incapable of making those decisions because of a disability.

On 22 August 2016 we released our first Question Paper on preconditions for alternative decision-making arrangements. We seek your views about these preconditions.

Submission close on Monday 17 October 2016.
