This report examines the extent to which mental health policy intent, legal obligations and fundamental principles are being realised in practice. It identifies examples of emerging good practice with the potential to be adopted at scale and contribute to the realisation of policy objectives. It finds overseas-born Australians more likely to delay mental health support.

Concerns about poverty in Australia are rising as cost-of-living pressures hit hard, with a majority of people agreeing income support payments are not enough to live on, according to this research. It finds that 60% of people agree government policies have caused some Australians to experience poverty.

Disability data measures project


This project seeks to improve disability data collection following the Disability Royal Commission’s call for consistency across surveys and services. Findings suggest that a strong conceptual framework and minimal question set can produce detailed, nationally consistent data. Further consultation, refinement and testing are needed for implementation.
