It includes estimates for 220 diseases and injuries for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population. Coronary heart disease remained the leading cause of burden in 2022.

The final report of the independent review of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988, the legislative framework that underpins the Commonwealth workers’ compensation scheme. The review made 124 recommendations, focussing on: best practice in workers’ compensation; workers’ experience of the scheme; scheme coverage and entitlements; governance and administration; and reducing disputes.
